All About Law !!
The Law Student Files
Studying law in the UK is much more than learning cases and memorising statutes. It's figuring out how to read a 50-page judgment, mastering OSCOLA, surviving problem questions, keeping up with seminars and somehow finding time to think about vacation schemes, mini-pupillages, training contracts and what you're actually going to do after graduation.
The Law Student Files is where I'll share the realities of studying an LLB in the UK while documenting my own journey through university and towards the legal profession.
Expect posts about assignments, revision, legal research, applications, work experience, assessment centres, networking, the SQE and everything else that comes with trying to build a career in law.
I'll also talk about the parts of being a law student that aren't always shown online — disappointing grades, rejected applications, comparing yourself to other students and those moments when everyone on LinkedIn seems to have secured a vacation scheme except you. 👀
Whether you're considering studying law, currently completing your LLB, preparing for the SQE, applying for training contracts or simply trying to work out which area of law interests you, I hope these files make the journey feel a little easier to navigate.
I don't have everything figured out either. I'm learning as I go and that's exactly the point.
One degree. Hundreds of applications. Plenty of coffee. And one future lawyer still building their case
Law in the News
The law is constantly changing and sometimes the biggest legal developments happen outside the courtroom.
Law in the News is where I'll break down the latest UK legal developments, new legislation, government proposals, court decisions and legal stories making the headlines.
From changes to immigration and asylum law to criminal justice, human rights, family law and major decisions from the UK Supreme Court, I'll look beyond the headline and explore what has actually changed, what the law says and why it matters.
The aim?
To make legal news easier to understand definitely without needing to read an entire Act of Parliament first.
Whether you're a law student trying to build your commercial and legal awareness or simply someone curious about the law behind the headlines, consider this your regular legal update.
